Contact Officer Workshops- Safe to talk to. Skilled to help. Clear on what to do.

Contact Officers provide a listening ear, information and support to colleagues who may be experiencing unlawful workplace behaviours. If you are often the go to person for a quiet chat, you may be the ideal person for this role. If you are in HR, then creating a Contact Officer role is a tangible way to demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to employee wellbeing.

We offer this workshop as an in-house workshop or twice a year as a public workshop

Who is this course for?

Since the role of a Contact Officer involves having well developed communication and interpersonal skills, it is appropriate to select people who are well liked and respected in the workplace. The Contact Officer must be good at managing their own and other people’s emotions in difficult situations. However, a Contact Officer is not a mediator and it is not their job to investigate complaints or resolve issues. For this reason, anyone in a position of authority or HR is not suitable as their duty of care requirements could conflict with the confidential non-resolution role of a Contact Officer.
